Conference overview
JJSC “Expocentre” with support and assistance of The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (RF CCI), The State Duma of the Russian Federation and The Governmental Commission on fuel and energy complex and reproduction of mineral resource base hold 1st International conference "Energy Security through Innovative Development" (June 22-23, 2010, Expocentre) within International exhibition "Neftegaz’2010".
The concept of the Conference is based on the fundamental postulates of the "Energy Strategy of Russian Federation until 2030” and formed taking into account the need for a committed and comprehensive discussion aimed to ensure global and regional energy security and sustainable development of oil and gas industry in long term perspective.
In accordance with this document “Energy security is a vital component of national security. Energy security – is the condition when the country, its citizens, society, government and economics are secured from threats to reliability of fuel and energy services. These threats are driven by external (geopolitical, macroeconomic, market) factors, as well as the condition and operation of the energy sector.
Energy security is determined by the resource adequacy, affordability, environmental and technological admissibility”.
The conference will contribute to the course of the RF Government to create an innovative economy, ensure energy security and to determine development vector of enterprises of fuel and energy complex in the coming years.
The purpose of the event is to identify resources for global and regional fuel and energy security, strengthening infrastructure, institutions and intellectual capacity, to identify ways to strengthen existing mechanisms for energy security based on innovation and investment processes in the industry.
Fuel and energy complex is the basis of Russian economy. The state priority today is an innovative development, technological modernization and technical regulation of basic industries, as well as enhancing the role of science and education in shaping the knowledge economy.
The main objective of the Conference is to promote conditions for sustainable development and functioning of fuel and energy complex branches, also taking into account innovations in military-industrial complex (MIC).
Stable development of the industry is a pledge of energy security. Therefore, the topics planned for discussion at the conference, cover actual aspects of all segments of the oil and gas industry. This is also one of the reasons why the Conference is taking place within The International exhibition “Neftegaz” - the largest in Eastern Europe industrial forum with more than 1000 exhibitors from 40 countries displaying equipment, machinery and technology used during the full cycle, from exploration works to bringing the finished product to the consumer.
The second reason for holding the Conference within the exhibition "Neftegaz" is to provide a single information field for a more effective dialogue between business and government, and the simultaneous direct access to all the structures of oil and gas industry, science and education.
Participation in the conference “Energy Security through innovative development” will enable companies to maximize feedback from the event in general as well as to meet their professional goals related to the course of the Russian Federation Government.
